Been trying to get the opportunity to do Some GREEN Bassin, while finding time between school.  But Bright and Sunny Day in Eugene, Oregon means its time to get the rod and reel out.  My good buddy Jack took me to a new watering hole that he had been to a few times before, with promising results.  So I knew there were some bass in the water but there were still a lot of unknowns. After a Few casts and multiple spot changes for nothing, I move to a fishy looking spot to hook up with my First Oregon LMB I Land this Toad for a few Pics !!!!
Obviously got a pocket full of  PURPS' senkos  in the time of question...

After releasing this beast back into his natural habitat. My confidence was riding pretty High, stuck around in this little spot to catch a couple more little healthy chunkers.  The ponds a lil different up here in oregon and have alot more trees, Stumps and Roots rather than Reeds and Toolies in SoCal..  makin for really tricky and fun battles....

After a gettin a couple solid bass i felt satisfied to finally head home, and the sunlight was starting to agree.... I made a final cast, and hollered over to the homie jack "Ey Check Me Out"  a few seconds before the final Flip.. Instant bendo for a lil sunset bass.

                                                                NEVER GIVE UP

Hit the lagoon spot after a slowwwwwwwwwwww day in mission bay.  Dan and Wyatt had to get the skunk off and I was ready for something to make the day worth while.  2 days in a row now i've caught a fish first cast at this spot.

Another one about the same size

And then it happened. Started like this

 Then like this 20"

Then these

And finally my first legal in fooeevvvaaaa. BOOOOMMMM!

In his natural habitat. Suuupperrr Irrriiee

Ahhh me so hungry

All in all we had a fun day. Started off slow but like my boy Mike Iaconelli always says, NEVER GIVE UP!

Went fishing at some local lagoons in hopes of catchin some better grade bass and halibut. Was anxious to try me new reebs spinnerbait after my friend roped a fat halibut on one a few days back. Sure enough not 5 seconds into reeling in my first cast and i had a fish on, and a toad at that!

length shot. Around 16-17" and probably 2 1/4 lbs. Left my measuring tape at home  so measured my rod and gripper later on to get an estimate

Couple more cast later and another nice fatty slammed the thrower. This one was probably around 14-15" and about 1 3/4lbs

moved to another location in the same body of water. Threw in the shade under the bridge and got slammed! Straight toad!

He was around the same length as the first fish but was thick! had to be pushing 2 3/4lbs. Here's a shot for perspective

Was pumped up after that! Over 6 pounds easy for 3 spotties! Refueled with a california burrito from Karinas and headed to the next local. It was a little bit slower here, but my friend jahdcon still managed a nice 26" halibut on the spinnerbait. Unfortunately, mr. hali wasn't too stoked for picture time and ended up flopping off the gripper and back into the drink  oh well, we'll let him grow up for another day. Great day overall and got me juiced up to hit Mission Bay tomorrow morning! stay tuneddd

DIRTY DAN:

Had the pleasure of meeting the Reebs guys at the BASSTRAVAGANZA on Sunday. I picked up a couple of there 1oz bolt throwers(spinnerbaits). Ive been hearing a lot of good reviews on them so I thought Id grab a few.

heres one of my favorites.

I finally got the time to use them today because my class got cancelled
I was hoping to catch some spotties out of the Carlsbad lagoon. The current was movin fast so I found my way to some calmer water.

Second cast and I hook u on this lil guy. This was my biggest halibut out of here. I let him go so he could swim another day

Kept throwin the bolt thrower and a few cast later I hook up this fatty.

10lb 30in halibut. MY BIGGEST HALIBUT EVER! caught him on 12# p-line.
Thankfully some of the other guys in the area had a scale and measuring tape.

I'm reallllly likin these Reebs bolt throwers. Still gotta catch a spotty on em though

Thanks,
Dirty Dan

Dirty Dan's fish report

DIRTY DAN'S FISH REPORT
Jan-April

Some mid-January green bassin at our local honey hole.

 solid 4 pounder
Here's some spotties I caught dock fishin in Coronado. They love the Warbaits Slayer SwimJigs. This guy at the spottie special jig with a 3" spottie special big hammer swimbait.
Sexydine jig with 3" sexy smelt big hammer.
 One of my personal best.
My girlfriends first fish ever! TOAD!

Took out Wyatt's dingy around Shelter Island for a couple hours one weekend. Super slow day, only 1 fish caught. He hit the spottie special combo.
Chunky little guy. Took a poo all over me.
The Carlsbad Lagoon can be on some days,
And its got so much variety.
Still waiting for the legal hali outta here...

A new found spot with some toads lurkin around...

LIKE THIS! Legal halibut caught on a 3" pearl colored big hammer swim bait coated in unibutter. I was so excited when I caught this I was screaming at the top of my lungs. Didnt get a weight or measurements, but Im think it was around 23-24" and about 3 pounds.
