bsolutely destroyed the bass yesterday evening. No joke my personal 5 fish stringer was easily over 10lbs with Dans probably right around 10 as well. Dan also got a legal hali that spit the hook right at the shore
We'll let the pictures do the talking

Just got back from my family's cabin on the Blackfoot river and boy was it a blast! Trip started out kinda slow and HOT! Fised the Blackfoot river the first couple days for only a few smaller fish that weren't quite picture worthy. Went down to the Madison river for a day of floating. Was a ton of fun and we had constant action all day. ONly problem was the size still wasn't quite what we were looking for, although i did manage a nice 15" brown.

On the way back from the Madison we stopped at the famous Rock Creek. Only fished for a few hours for a couple smaller trout. The scenery was beautiful but i really wasn't that impressed with the fishing. We did manage some small cutthroat and browns but nothing to write home about. This herd of Bighorn Sheep were the only things picture worthy

Headed back to the Foot' and found the fishing was still slow so we decided to explore some creeks. Boy was that the call. First creek started out slow but the farther we got from the campsite and civilization the bigger the fish seemed to get. They started like this

Then got a little bigger

Then my dad connects with a thick one on an ant! This turned out to be the fish of the trip. Probably around a 20" cuttbow and thickkk

We were amazed that with all the big famous rivers we fished the biggest trout to date came from a nearby creek. Stoked to say the least. Ran into a teacher from my high school on the same creek (small world), and he let us in on a little secret spot that we just had to give a try. This spot made the trip! Every pool we came upto was at least one fish, and not small ones. Most were over 12" with a few pushing 16". I'll let the pictures do the talking:

this guy looked ancient and had a very interesting color pattern!

Then on my last cast of the entire trip i pulled this beautiful cutty out of a small pool that couldn't have been bigger than 5x5

Here's a couple bonus pics:

Got into a WIDE OPEN night bite the other day. Never seen anything like it. We had bass boiling all over the place and the area was just stacked with bait. Must have had something to do with the 7ft+ high tide. Anyway back to the fishing. Kiel started off with the hot stick and roped in 4 bass on the wrath child big hammer before i could even get dialed in. All were quality models.

We caught fish all the way through the slack and it really started to pick up on the outgoing tide. Then it busted wide open. Fish were biting on anything black. We custom painted some old swimbaits with sharpies and the fish were diggin them!

Also caught a nice size halibut on a swimbait. Kiel tried to lip this bad boy  ouch.
